the two weeks that were.
exciting times. i used evry possible waking moment i could find, or
borrow. mealtimes went out the window and... sleep? ooh. what's that
now? :D
let's do this in pictures now, shall we?
21 february, monday.
- Cross Cultural Integration Program ( CCIP ). Exhibition at campus
grounds. Coutries represented : Pakistan, South Africa, Mozambique,
Japan, Iran, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. Lively music. Fun friends :)
hand wrestling or congkak anyone?
- a lively 'intellectual' discussion with my ethics lecturer. 2 hours
long. thought provoking matters were discussed. more of which will
trespass this (sometimes) feeble mind of mine from time to time, it
will probably be evident in my writings here in times to come.
- Wings of Borneo.
Very culturally rich night. My second WOB event. The last time i went,
i hardly knew any of the performers... this time around, i know like a
whole bunch of them. East Malaysians- lovely, lovely ppl :). We got a
chance to dance the sumazau and the Magunatip ( two long bamboos
banged and clapped on the ground - dancers dance thru these pairs of
bamboo )

the crowd there : very fun loving ppl. not merely seat warmers. those
that were there really really wanted to be there - and they were very
supportively participating. also noticed that the crowd was mainly
east malaysians themself, and international students. Locals somehow
are not as interested - not that they already know about the culture
of our fellow coutrymates over the South China Sea, it's just a matter
of not knowing and not caring to know.
thoughts : Malaysia is very rich in culture, there's so much that's
interesting, so much that's colorful, so much that's beautiful. But we
often stop short of looking further than at ourselves and the people
like us. Most of the time we're content with that, y'know- Living in a
bubble that has its insides plastered with mirrors.
22 february, tuesday
CF - Family matters. good open discussion. maybe not open enough. talk
without action - not worth very much. we'll see how. ..
23 february, wednesday
Ethics 24 hour test. 3 questions. 1500 words. sot.
24 february, thursday
Aikido's Women's Self Defense Workshop. Practical steps to
prevent/protect yourself from the evils of the world >:). Met up with
jepun, then chris.. made some very sudden and spontaneous decisions,
surprising myself - but it wuz fer a good friend - a favour, tho i
can't say i regret making them now. :D
25 february, friday
